"Fatality of Life" was created in 1988 and is on display at the Seoul Olympic Museum. "My work" states the author, "is entitled Fatality of Life and it is based on a Russian proverb which states that you can not escape fate. In my work this proverb expresses the impossibility, when standing on the wheels in this position to go either to the right or to the left. I feel very close to the sense of irony, of the absurd, which is often times ideally expressed through proverbs".
Born in 1929 in Moscow, Romanovskaya graduated from the V.I. Surikov Moscow State Art Institute in 1957 and has been exhibiting ever since. Her works are in the State Tretiakov Gallery in Moscow, The Ludwig Collection, Graphics Gallery (Aachen, Germany), and in several private collections in the United States of America, France, Great Britain, and Germany.
