Pafos Marathon - February. The course is one of the major attractions of this event. It is almost flat, asphalt surfaced and includes a long section along the sea front of the city. The new start and finish area will be located at the Pafos Mediaeval Fort square nearby Pafos world famous harbour area. There is ample free car/bus parking available. It is clearly marked at every kilometer and water/sponge stations are manned at regular intervals. The host of the SpiderNet Pafos Marathon 2000 is the 5-star luxury hotel Coral Beach Hotel & Resort. The scenic course takes in many of the historic sites of Pafos, including the Agia Solomoni church a Christian catacomb retaining some of the 12th century frescoes, the impressive Tombs of the Kings that date back to the 4th century BC, the Mosaics of Pafos dating from the 3rd to the 5th century AD which are considered among the finest in the Eastern Mediterranean. Throughout the race course you will find many more other historic sites of Pafos.
