Jogging with Jesus book cover

Jogging with Jesus by C. S. Lovett, paperback, 112 pages, Personal Christianity (1978), ISBN: B0006Y0ZAA

"Many people start off jogging and almost as many quit out of boredom. Why?" asks Dr. C.S. Lovett, author of this book. "They have nothing to do. But if you learn to jog with Jesus that won't happen to you". This book shows how to enjoy the benefits of jogging and at the same time develop a glorious relationship with the Lord. "Have you noticed that when your body is busy, your mind is free to fellowship with the Lord?" continues Dr. Lovett. "In a shower, for example, when your body is made comfortable by the warm water, it is easy for your spirit to take over and your thinking drift to the Lord. The same is true when you jog. Your body loves it, time flies and your spirit soars. When the body is busy with something of its own, your mind is free to dream about the Lord. Sometimes I close my eyes momentarily while jogging to get a more vivid picture of Jesus on the screen of my mind. The Holy Spirit enjoys this kind of fellowship. Nothing is structured and the Spirit can put amazing things on the screen of your mind. Every Christian should set aside time for the Lord in these busy days, and jogging with Jesus is the answer". Author Dr. Lovett is the president of Personal Christianity, an evangelical interdenominational ministry founded by him and three other pioneers, Jack Kerr, Warren Belknap and Andrew Parish. For the past 50 years Dr. Lovett has had but one objective: preparing Christians for the second coming of Christ. This book is one of his dozens of publications designed to help believers be prepared for Christ's appearing. Among Lovett's books are "Help Lord, the Devil Wants Me Fat!" and "Jesus Wants You Well" for God really doesn't want the Spirit's temple to be in bad shape.
