I worked in McMurdo from the Austral Summer of 1985 through 1989. My favorite runs included loops of Castle Rock and the Kiwi Ski Hut, and runs out to Willy Field. I frequently went unaccompanied, but I do not recommend this (I was a member of the rescue team that pulled the civilian contractor out of the crevasse: he was in a party of three walking along what they thought to be an established path, it was in fact a drifted-over crevasse; easy mistake). Other good runs include various adventurous routes in the "Heights" above MacTown. Happy trails!
