In Reykjavik there are paths all across town and many parks, for example Laugardalur, Ellidardalur, Fossvogsdalur, Heidmork and the paths along the costline. Races are held regurlarly during the summer and some during the winter, the biggest one being "Reykjavik Marathon" held at the end of August (see http://www.toto.is/rmar). Running groups meet almost every day and one can always find someone going the same pace and distance.
