One other running spot or at least an event that is worth mentioning in the Abu Dhabi Emirate, is the "Jebal Haffit run" in Al Ain. I have driven the 10km of road up to the top of Jebal Haffit, a mountain that rises almost 2000 ft out of the desert next to the beautiful "oasis" city of Al Ain... and it gives my 1991 Land Cruiser all it can handle. So the annual run up the mountain is not for the faint of heart!
