This run around the famous Ayers Rock starts at the car park. There is a well mantained dirt track that runs the 9.2km around the rock or if you prefer some hill work you can climb the 1.6km route to the top (Ayers Rock is about 350m high). The run up the rock is extremely hard and don't expect to do it under 40 minutes if you're running hard or 2-3 hours walking. Unfortunately there is no water at the bottom to drink but there are pit toilets. Remember when visiting Ayers Rock take a lot of water: in summer the temperatures rise to the mid 40's.
