While visiting Turkey in 2000 I discovered a fantastic run in Istanbul. The best time to run around the Hipodrome in Istanbul is early in morning when the air is cool and before it gets too busy. The Hipodrome in Istanbul is situated around the famous Blue Mosque and St. Sofia cathedrals. There are lots of benches for stretching and many water fountains. Being a young Australian female myself I would warn female runners of showing too much skin to avoid "looks" from the locals. The course around the Hipodrome is about 4 km and could be run around more than once. Great run!
