The City of Windsor has spent a lot of effort making the riverfront area greener. You can now run along the Detroit river that eventually turns into Lake St. Clair for close to 20 miles one way. The course starts right under the Ambassador bridge that connects Windsor to Detroit. Here the path is right next to the river. The path continues north east past downtown, The Windsor Casino, Hiram Walker (home of Canadian Club Whisky). Here the route changes to sidewalk along Riverside Drive home of the well to do of Windsor. The sidewalk continues till the Windsor Marina and then turns into a very wide asphalt path called the Ganacho Trail. Ganacho has a lot of in-line skaters and walkers during the summer. Continuing on along Riverside Drive and you hit two nice golf courses: Lakewoood and Beach Grove. The path takes a bit of a jog on to Old Tecumseh and eventually ends at the little town of Puce. The course is quite flat, full of trees, and water stops. Great for "Detroit Marathon" training.
