There are two very nice areas to go running in Bonn. The first, a nice flat course for as long as you like to go, is along the paths on both sides of the river Rhine (our foreign minister Joschka Fischer started his running career there). This is a rather scenic route, both for beginners and advanced runners. Some bathrooms are along the way. The other area, where I used to run, is the Venusberg, a hill, above the suburbs of Kessenich and Dottendorf. The University hospital is situated there as well. You run through the forest on various dirt roads, with different inclines. It is nice in summer, and you have great views onto the city and the Rhine valley.
