You can run practically throughout the whole city (i.e., the downtown area) because the streets are very well laid-out. There are separate bikers' paths, as well as pedestrian paths. Also, there is a huge park near the modern art museum, The Englischer Garten, which is one of the largest city parks in Europe. It is an absolutely wonderful place to run, people watch, take in all the activities going on. There are several beer hofs in the park as well. Also, one can run along the Isar River (Steinsdorfstrasse).
