This is the first (or last) village you meet along the "Romantic Strasse". Close to the Forggensee lake, Fussen is famous for the royal castles nearby, Hohenschwangau and Neuschwanstein (the best one). It is wonderful running along the lake; you can choose among many paths, all of them bycicle only streets all around the lake. If you want to stay here I can suggest you two hotels (not cheap but they are worthwhile): Landhaus Sommer (tel. 08362/91470) or Hotel Schwarzen Bach's.
