Kiribati (pronounced "kiri-bas") has three main groups of islands. Two groups are habited. In the Eastern Pacific, south of Hawaii, are the Line Islands. Kiritimati (Christmas) is the largest island and the "ring-road" or disused runways should be ok for running. Ask at the hotel. The main group of islands are in the Western Pacific. Tarawa is the capital and has most of the population. Kiribati is made of atolls - maximum height above sea level is 4 meters. There are no hills! On Tarawa there is/used to be a Hash House Harriers running club. Try asking at the Ambo Club or Australian High Commission for lastest info on this. Runs usually once per week, with compulsory beer drinking afterwards. Tarawa is in two halves south (urban), north (rural). South Tarawa is about 25 miles long and half a mile wide. There is one road. Traffic is moderate - mostly small buses. You can run on the road. Beware of dogs chasing you.
