Kuching (in malay "kuching" means "cat") is a typical South East Asian city with a slight difference: due to the fact that the population is sparse, the city is cleaner then other Asian cities, has less traffic (for now!) and has been able to invest in trees and parks, so you will see a lot of greenery around. Most Kuchingites who walk/jog head for the Reservoir Park, a park in the heart of the city with a tarmac track sourrounding a small man made lake. There are two loops to this park both encompassing about 0.5 kilometer each loop or you could go around both loops for a total of 1 kilometer. There is a slight incline between the two loops so I would call it mildly hilly especially if you have to climb that incline ten times! You could also run on the grass parts of the park which would give you a much bigger loop but be prepared for a hilly run.
