Liechtenstein is quite small so we should look at the country as a whole. There is basically a choice between running on the flat or running in the mountains. I make this choice while I wake up depending on whether I want a long flat run or a shorter, more strenous up and down run. For flat running the Rhine river bank is the obvious place. Run on the Swiss side to avoid traffic (no cars allowed) or both sides on Sundays when cars are banned from the Liechtenstein side as well. The surface is tarmac most of the way and you can run about 25 km from one end of the country to the other (yes, Liechtenstein is small - that is the long edge of the country!). There are other runs on the flat around the northern towns of Bendern, Rugell in the farm lands, and in the south in Switzerland around Bad Ragaz and Sargans.
