There is also the Shuwaik University campus - 4.5 km circuit essentially traffic free - site of the ORRC run every Tuesday, look for the tippex line. From there we run a 15km out and back route along the opalescent beach (also known as Hawaii) behind the hospitals, past the Ministries building and on to the goat mound area - about 5 square km of desert, scrub, coast, trees and undulations. There again is the cooling breeze with views of Mutla ridge, Doha and on to Iraq.
