Tian'namen Square Loop: I live east of Tian'namen Square on the second ring road (if you can, refer to a map of Beijing). This area just north of Jian Guo Men Wai (street name) is known for the area which houses diplomats and foreigners who live and work in Beijing. I always run early in the morning and typically begin at 5 or 5:30 am. I run straight west to Tian'namen Square and between the square and Forbidden City, turn left (counterclockwise) on the far side of the square and go around Tian'namen with its Mao's Tomb and Nanjiang (South Gate) monuments, back to the main street and east to home. About 4.75 miles. Sometimes, if you started late, you will have to stop near the north end of the square when they raise the PRC flag (05:50 precisely). Happy trails.
