Christmas Island is a small but beautiful island located in the Indian Ocean. With a population of 1300-1600 people, the community consists of chinese, malay and european people living together in harmony. Consisting of 67% national parks and surrounded by the ocean, it offers some breathtaking views and captivating scenery. Every Thursday, there are a club of runners, joggers and walkers who meet up at 4:30 pm to run on a predetermined course set by one of the members. Visitors are always welcome. Hash House Harriers go everywhere on Christmas Island and is a good way of seeing the island. There are many local joggers, runners and walkers and these are some of the routes. Course #1 (Settlement to Flying Fish Cove): approximately 4-8 km long, this is a beautiful run in the morning and late afternoon. Lush tropical rainforest on one side and mesmerising ocean on the other. Breathtaking. Course #2 (Resort road): flanked by lush rainforest on both sides, this run offers serenity by getting back to nature. Little traffic but bring the mozzie repellent.
