There are great forested trails and city routes beginning just a quarter mile from the large, modern, SI-Centrum complex in southwest-suburban Stuttgart-Möringen. The complex is also just 10 minutes from the Stuttgart airport by car and five minute walk to a stop on the urban train network. It is an ideal area of the city for the traveling runner to stay in. In a car, find the open fields just south of the Daimler Chrysler headquarters. You cannot miss the forest trailheads and parking on the right as you drive south from the Daimler Chrysler complex. In this area, you can run a flat or very hilly course, on a paved trail, or on single track dirt. If you are staying in or near the SI-Centrum, a good starting point is behind the Stella Hotel. There is a pedestrian bridge across Highway 27 and it puts you near the same trail heads described above (at the bottom of the bridge, turn left). Enjoy!
