Known by its beautiful beaches, my first suggestion for you in Maceió is running along the gorgeous coast. This course runs through the three most beautiful neighborhoods in Maceió: Jatiúca, Ponta Verde and Pajuçara. You can run on the bicycle path from Pajuçara beach - near the Crb club - passing through Ponta Verde until the end of Jatiúca. It is a 5,2 km course (10,4 km coming back to the start point) with signs every 50 meter. Nice running enjoying the beautiful shore. From Pajuçara you can also run south to the next beach: praia da Avenida. Before you reach this beach, you’ll pass through Jaraguá, a neighborhood with many bars and show houses. Praia da Avenida has wonderful views, what is great during a long run (it’s not a marked course though). Maceió, as all Brazil’s Northeast, is very warm but the breeze relieves the hot weather. So, when you are in Maceió, enjoy the views and have a nice running!
