The suburban streets are a bit boring in Islamabad as they are all long and straight. A nice alternative is to run through the woods that run parallel to Margalla Road. Park by the zoo (you can also park by the Police checkpoint). You'll see a running/jogging track marked which heads west. Follow this through the woods. After about 500 meters it goes through a dip and is a short sharp rise on the other side. Keep going along this path until you see a turn off to the right - it follows a chain-link fence. Follow this right turn and keep going. It eventually leads you up a gully along a fairly narrow path and comes out on the road to Daman-e-koh. You can run back down the road or keep going up to Daman-e-koh for a longer run. Circuit is about 30 minutes, up to Daman-e-koh its about 40-45 minutes. It is a nice shaded run!
