Central London: I do a couple of lunchtime runs from where I work (Clerkenwell). First off, I hop on the tube to Great Portland Street, and run around Regents Park. A circuit is roughly 2.5 miles, so it's a good lunch run. The bad thing is the sweaty tube ride back! Biggest dangers in the park are the groups of schoolkids who find it amusing to stand in your way. Next run is along the Grand Union Canal from Islington. I usually run up to the A10 and then back, a circuit of 4 miles. Once you're on the canal it's nice, and for longer runs (which I've not done), the route can take you all the way to the docklands.
