To really experience what Boston offers to the sport of running, head out early on any given Sunday morning to Boston's most famous hill, which any runner will tell you is not Bunker, but Heartbreak! Long runs on Heartbreak are how many runners start their Sunday to perform weekly penitence to the running Gods. One popular route is to start just after Heartbreak Hill at St. Ignasius Church on Commonwealth Avenue (end of the Green Line-B). If you follow the "Boston Marathon" course backwards, turnaround at the Firehouse at mile 4, your workout will not be over until you've conquered Heartbreak - backward and forward.
