During a tour of Israel in 1995, I had the privilege to run in the city of Jerusalem. Jerusalem means city of peace. My run took me from my hotel, The Holiday Inn Crown Plaza, down the street through the Rose Garden, around the Kinneset, the governing body of Israel. The temperature was perfect as it was a late November afternoon. The best part was running through the Rose Garden there, up and down steps, with the fragrance of beautiful roses encouraging me onward. Jerusalem is very hilly, runners must bring their "bicycle legs" for a run in the city. One feels very safe in Israel, and it is wonderful to think of who walked on the steps before us - Abraham, Moses and even Jesus.
