Here is a 10-kilometer course in Geneva. Start in the corner of Quai du Mont-Blanc and the Pont du Mont-Blanc (ideal if you stay at the Hotel Bristol for example). Run across the bridge. Continue running by the Lac Léman past Jardin Anglais. Simply continue running by the lake until the footpath ends. There is a natural turning point at exactly 5.0 km from the place where you started. Turn back for 10.0 km run. For longer distance, continue running on the right side of the lake until you reach the entrance of Jardin Botanique. This and a round in Jardin Botanique (you will have to run through an underground passage to cross the highway) will add another 8 or so kilometers to your run if you return to the beginning.
