If you are in Chitose between December and March, get directions to the Sports Center. They have treadmills. But I don't know if they have daily or weekly fees. The snow is nice to run on, but it has to be packed down by traffic. You probably don't want to get involved with that, although I could tell you how to find a very nice forest road that has about a mile or two of vehicle tracks to run in. Race entries close as much as two to three months in advance of the event. If you are in the area for only a week or two, you probably cannot get an entry in a race no matter who you know or who you think you know.
