Go from any point of the city to the Ranchos fountain. From here, take the road to Santiago until the new bridge over the Miño (sideroad is broad enough, there would not have to be traffic problems). Cross the Carrefour entrance, leave the football ground at your right handside. Follow the old road (almost no traffic now) till the path over the river. There is water in the entrance, the path is a beautiful two lane ground trail. This track leads to the Rato walk, a flat path which has to be followed to arrive at Fonsagrada's entrance to Lugo. From here, all uphill. First 300 meters very hard uphill to the Renfe rail station, and another 150 meters to the old roman wall's basement. On the whole, about 12k. Last ramps excluded.
