In the last several years, the mayor of Bogota has designated Sunday mornings as a time to close off many of the city's main streets to vehicle traffic, making them available to runners, bikers, and families out for a walk. Popular with city residents, these road closing have a festive feel. For serious running, go early before the roads become more crowded. Designated routes and times can be found in any of the cities newspapers.
