Makati city being the Financial district of the Philippines, naturally one would expect a lot of traffic and people. I have been running in this area for almost 20 years and I would suggest the effort to make your run fun. Start your run no later than 6:30 am. If you are a "pm" runner start around 7:00 pm. One route you can take is the Ayala avenue, Pasay road, Pasong Tamo & Buendia circle, which is about 4 km long. You can also enter the villages like Forbes Park, Dasmarinas, Urdaneta, San lorenzo to avoid the traffic. Don't worry about the guards. They will let you inside the village: just be polite. You can also take the Makinlley-Bonifacio route which is about 12 km out and back. This route I suggest is the best because of the big trees and wide open spaces. Lastly, remember always to bring an identification card for emergency purpose. Watch out for those crazy drivers, dress lightly (it gets really hot).
