A well used course for jogging in Tuebingen is situated in on the Spitzberg, which is a forested ridge that starts in a steep and long uphill road at the west end of the old town and ends 4-5 kilometers later just in front of the Wurmlinger Chapel - a very romantic view when you glimpse it first. The direct gravel road to the Chapel is very well marked, but it is unlikely you will get lost taking other paths, since you would run downhill and out of the forest quickly. The main path is relatively flat, but there are several parallel trails with steeper and longer ascends and descends. Warning: do not run on the main paths on sunny Sunday afternoons, since this may get somewhat crowded with hikers and joggers. If you want to more by yourself, try some paths in the Schoenbuch north of town. A tip for jogging in really awful weather is the bike tunnel (with about 500 meters, the longest in Europe or in the world) under the castle.
