Hagley Park in Christchurch is a nice flat course. I love to run it at all times of the year because of the changing scenery with autumn leaves and the daffodils and bluebells in the spring. You can run on the tracks around the outside of the park or varying tracks through the Botanic Gardens. There is adequate waterfountains and conveniences and providing you don't run in the dark it is safe - but runners always be wary wherever you are - there are oddballs anywhere. There is adequate free car parking from the Armagh street Bridge entrance (90 minutes). Plenty of time to do the two parks - south Hagley and North Hagley which is seperated by Hagley Avenue - the full circuit is approximately 8 kilometers - I run the North Hagley circuit which is about 6 kilometers and look forward to it every day as I know you can run and not worry about cars and fumes from them.
