Slovenia is very pleasant country for running sport. There are many marathon and other running events as there are a lot of territories and places for training. Maribor is the second largest city in Slovenia close to Austrian border. For my running training I use one wonderful place very close to Austrian border between the hills, grass fields and forests. The territory is called Kobansko and is spread between 3 hills which are about 700m to 950m high. I use mountain bike to reach the starting point right from the center of the city. Then I put my running clothes and lock my bike. After that I have from 16km to 25km (depends on the length I choose) of wonderful terrain between hills, forests and grass-fields. There are few lonely farms where you can meet nice-warm people which salutes you every morning I choose this running. So please be welcome in Maribor. I hope that in near future Maribor will also have some marathon event as Ljubljana or Radenci have.
