Running along the bank of the river is easy and flat on a paved surface. You can go on for quit a distance. In October 2002 there were tents and cardboard houses under the bridges, the dwellings of not so succesful community members I suppose. No inhabitants around though. Met a few local runners too, and quite a few Japanese taking their dog for a walk. Make a notion of where you enter the path as there are several bridges and it is easy to get off at the wrong one on your retour. A little tour up around the temples on the eastern side will get you some cultural runnning experience too, bring a map!
