Bay to Bay (18km, 22km or more): start in Camps Bay, on the beach opposite the hotel. Run to the top of the hill at Llandudno, brilliant views of unspoiled mountain on one side the everchanging ocean on the other side. Either turn at the top (9km) and go back towards the city. Good view of Camps Bay, Clifton, in the distance, Lions Head and the mountain, ships etc. For longer runs go down to the village of Hout Bay. More stunning views and a tough climb on the way back. Above the city: from the bus stop at Kloofnek follow that cable car road, good surface 12km (return) to the end of the tarred road and back. High above the city northerly views of the harbour, across the bay, Robben Island and more. For the tough, continue on the contour paths that go around the mountain. Views change to east and southeast acroos the residential areas to the far off mountains. Trail running at its best, turn down at Kirstenbosch (estimate 6km) or onto to Constantia Nek. Too much for a return run so organise transport at the end.
