Very close to the middle of Launceston there is Cataract Gorge. There are toilets, a kiosk and a swimming pool near the car park. There are many kilometres of well maintained dirt tracks that run next to the river. Cataract Gorge is very popular with runners and walkers so you will not feel isolated. All the runs are very scenic and I found the area a great place to run.
