My favourite early morning run starts at the Hotel Invalides. Take Avenue Bourdonnais to the Champ Du Mars. Run under the Eiffel Tower and cross the Pont D'Elena bridge. Turn right and run the right bank quays to the Ile de la Cite. Cross over and run the left bank past the Jardin De Plantes to Pont d'Austerlitz and cross bridge. You will be on Ledru-Rollin. Continue for a quarter mile to the intersection of Avenue Daumesnil. You will see an L. Stop, go up the steps and you are on the Promenade Plantee, an interesting 3k converted train track. At the end of the promenade go right and head toward Bois de Vincennes. At Avenue Daumesnil you can grab the metro back to the Invalides or turn and head back. One way: estimated 8 miles.
