How would you like to run under four miles of cherry blossom trees? The sidewalk along Matsu river runs through the center of Toyama, the capital city of Toyama prefecture, in Japan. You also find a couple of spring water fountains along the sidewalk. The fountains are for the public Shitoism altars where the local merchants pray every morning. The residents plant many flowers along the sidewalk every season, as well. One public bathroom and the bridges crossing the river are built with old-fashioned Japanese design to go with the castle in the city. Running in the lively morning along the river with many trees, flowers and people's greetings awaken me.
