If you are coming from sea level this route is flat and easy on the lungs. I would suggest picking up a city map from your hotel or TI footpaths are clearly marked. From the train station take St. Martinstrasse in the direction of Garmisch. After 3 kilometers look left for the entrance to a footpath (Hammerbacher Fussweg). Follow the path to the tracks go under the tracks and turn left. Run takes you pass the Olympic stadium and ski jump. The path brings you to a covered bridge. Cross and make a hard left. Path now picks up the Partnach river. Continue running along river occasionally switching sides. At the end of the path you are on Bahnhofstrasse. Turn left and jog 400 meters to the train station. Total distance of loop: 11 kilometers.
