In Sri Lanka the financial capital is Colombo whilst the formal capital is Sri Jayawardhanapura which is very close to Colombo. Some parts of Colombo are very busy and one can't enjoy walking or running specially in Pettah the busiest part of the city. But Cinnomon Gardens, another part of the city is the most decent part for a walk. Full of huge trees and cool air. Or you could run in Kotte area full of waterways and trees. If one is interested in walking or running a long distance then you could start from Colombo take the flat coastal highway, Galle road to Galle or Matara. That route is also relaxing I believe. Although a bit difficult to run the hill country is the coolest in Sri Lanka where temperature stays below 25 °C. In rest of the country is a bit hot averaging around 32 °C. Wherever you are in Sri Lanka you've got something interesting to enjoy.
