The recently completed Kylltal bicycle and pedestrian trail runs next to the Kyll river from Kyllburg, north of Bitburg, to Trier. The trail is mostly Asphalt with some dirt sections. It runs through numerous local villiages and next to train tracks, which is handy if you pull something or just run out of gas and need a ride back. It is mostly shady and extremely picturesque. One thing the trail certainly is not is flat and it can be icy in winter.
