Several options are available around Utrecht. A nice one through the woods is the so-called Panbos, about 5 kilometers from Utrecht near De Bilt. There are a couple of marked walking paths of 5, 8 and 12 kilometers. It can be busy on a Sunday afternoon as the whole of Utrecht goes for a walk, but you are away from the crowd in five minutes. Every first Sunday of the month there is an organised run with a track of 3 kilometers that you can do as many times as you like. It starts at 12 o'clock. Very nice atmosphere.
