As far as I know I am the only person to have run on the very nice beach of Khanom. It is on the mainland east from Koh Samuii, however there are no tourists at Khanom. There are hotels there now, but unknown to westerners. If you want to get really lost, go to Khanom and stay at one of the Bungalo motels among the beach. It is beautiful place. Khanom is about 1 hour by car from Surat Thani.
