A decent run in Thimphu is simply to cross the river from the main town, and follow the road north past the SAARC Building. There is a slight uphill for 3/4 kilometers but the views across the river overlooking the Dzong are neat. You can keep on running as long as you want, then on your return, cross the river on any of the bridges. In late March it is best to start running at 6:00 in the morning. It is light and the dogs are asleep.
