If you are a lover of hill running and vista views, then this is the run for you! This run is located in Northern Togo in the small village of Nano. The best place to start is at the Nano market area in the village center (be careful not to get sucked into drinking local beer before you run). Take the dirt road headed east towards Ghana. This part of the run is flat and meanders through the countryside and passes the village chief's house (the one with the Togo flag out front). After 3 miles you reach the base of the bluffs and begin a moderate climb up a rutted track/road. At about one and a half miles the grade levels off and provides the enthusiast with a panoramic view of the savanna plains stretching out to the north. If you are still not ready to turn back yet you can take the fork headed left and run along the edge of the bluff for another 2 miles. Or you can head to the right and continue towards Ghana, climbing further into the heart of the bluffs. Lastly, an important consideration is the time of year you will be running, as from December to April is the dry season when it is very hot with a great quantity of fine dust in the air.
