L'viv has a charming, though dilapidated, 16th century Renaissance city center surrounded by equally interesting 19th century Habsburg architecture. The narrow, cobble stone streets, uneven sidewalks, and crowded streets make for difficult running, however. Serious runners should head for one of the larger parks in the city, Striis'ky Park or the Kaiserwald. Each is about a 20 minutes walk from the city center. For something completely different, try running the ancient Lychakivs'ky Cemetery, it's a challenging, hilly, 3 km course, but fascinating in its own way. Another, even more challenging run is to go to the top of Vysokyi Zamok (the High Castle). On a clear day, you will be rewarded with a marvellous view of the entire city.
