For longer runs, start at the covered street in the Medina (next to the kasaba) and follow the route of the city walls. I go along the city walls until I get to the palace, and then continue on the busy road which is in front of the Hilton and the jogging park. After the jogging park I like to turn left and continue until the road turns and I end up at a Pizza Hut restaurant. At the Pizza Hut I turn right and it becomes a lovely tree-lined run by embassies, unfortunately on a busy street. To the Syrian embassy / residence and back is about 25-30 kilometers.
