The large cities of Uzbekistan are quite industrial and polluted (bus fumes, etc.) and if I wanted to run while in Uzbekistan I would prefer the smaller cities. The main city, Tashkent, has grand Soviet-style city planning and architecture which means wide sidewalks and it should be fine. One of the more interesting cities in Uzbekistan, Samarkand, is probably not such a great running spot, as the streets are quite crowded, and the pollution quite bad. Be prepared for lots of stares, and have fun!
