Gemenos to the L'Abbaye de St Pons. The most beautiful run in the world is a 40 minute roundtrip run in Gemenos, along a stream, through a forest, past cascades, an old mill, a waterfall, and ending in a meadow among white limestone cliffs at the 13th Century L'Abbaye de St Pons. The source of the St. Pons river is right behind the Abbey – shooting straight out from the cliffs. The views are an incredible kaleidoscope of green forest, white cliffs and the blue sky of Provence. With the tranquil sound of the rushing stream, this is a most special run. To get to Gemenos, take A52 towards Aubagne, take exit 34 and route N396 into Gemenos (4 kilometers). Starting in the town center, run along D2 (Rue St. Pons) up to the Parc de Saint-Pons. Follow the sloping gravel trails uphill until you reach the Abbey. It is a "trace jaune" on the Randonnee trail. You can get more info at www.gemenos.fr.
