A great 10 kilometers run for the business traveler in Marseille. Start at the Vieux Port (metro stop) and run east along Quai du Rive Neuve, past Le Pharo (a seaside residence given by the town to Napoleon III), and along the Corniche John F. Kennedy to the beach park (bathrooms and water here). A replica of Michelangelo's David marks the turnaround. Great views of the Mediterranean and the offshore islands from the Corniche. You can continue along the beach park for a longer, flatter run. If you are in town during late October, run in the "Marseille-Cassis Classique Internationale". It a 20 kilometers uphill/downhill that was voted one of the most scenic races in France.
