The Montserrat National Trust has a nice little map for sale showing the hiking trails on Montserrat. There is also a group called the Hash House Harriers who sponsor runs (hashes) each month followed by fun and frolic - and "down, downs!". Back to the trail map, six trails are described ranging from a difficulty levels of light, moderate and difficult. The back of the map has a description of each trail including what birds, plants, lizards etcetera might be encountered, as well as any historical landmarks. Walkers and runners in Montserrat are safe - we have no poisonous critters, no (human) gangs, and as the volcano continues to go back to sleep, larger areas will be opened up to explore. All in all, an interesting and exciting experience!
